Terms of Service

Preliminary draft — not yet reviewed by counsel

This document is a plain-English description of how GolfPath actually works today, published early so families and coaches can read it before they sign up. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not the final agreement. We will replace it with a counsel-reviewed version before GolfPath opens to the public, and we will change the date below when we do.

Last updated 15 September 2026.

The short version

  • Parents hold the account and are responsible for what goes on their golfer's profile.
  • Coach, tournament director and instructor accounts are verified by a person at GolfPath. We can decline or withdraw that verification.
  • Post only content you have the right to post, keep the information true, and never try to route around the age rules.
  • You keep ownership of everything you upload. You let us show it to the people your golfer's age band permits.
  • We do not promise a scholarship, a roster spot, or that any coach will look.

What GolfPath is

GolfPath is a recruiting and visibility platform for junior golfers. A family builds a golfer's profile — scores, tournament results, video — and verified college coaches search those profiles to find players who fit their programme. These terms are the agreement between you and GolfPath for using the website and the mobile app.

GolfPath is in a limited pilot. Family sign-up is not open to the public, and we are not creating profiles for golfers under 13 yet.

Who can hold an account

  • A parent or guardian holds the account for their family and is responsible for it, including anything posted under it.
  • A golfer aged 13 to 17 may have their own login, linked to their guardian's account and subject to that guardian's oversight.
  • A golfer under 13 does not get a login. Their profile belongs to the parent's account, and the parent posts everything on it.
  • You must give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your password to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else is using your account.

Coach, director and instructor accounts are verified at our discretion

Choosing a professional role on a form grants nothing. Everyone who signs up gets an ordinary family account and then applies; a person at GolfPath reviews the application and grants the role only if we are satisfied the applicant is who they say they are. This is deliberate — the ability to see minors' profiles is not something anyone can assign to themselves.

We may approve or decline an application for any reason, ask for more evidence, or withdraw a verification later. A declined application does not affect your ordinary account.

Verified coaches and instructors use GolfPath free of charge. Verification means we checked an identity; it is not an endorsement of a coach, a programme, or an instructor's teaching.

Memberships and payment

  • Families pay an annual membership. The current price is shown at checkout before you pay, and we may change prices for future terms.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive your card details.
  • A membership renews annually unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time, and access continues to the end of the paid period.
  • If a renewal payment fails, there is a grace period during which everything keeps working before access is suspended. Recruiting runs on a season and a lapsed card should not quietly pull a golfer out of coach search.
  • Coaches and instructors pay nothing.

The instructor referral programme

Instructors can earn a recurring commission for families they refer. That programme — including eligibility, commission amounts, how referrals are attributed, payout timing, holds and reversals — is governed by a separate instructor agreement, not by these terms. Nothing on this page is a promise of payment.

Referral codes are issued by GolfPath. Instructors do not choose their own code, and a code may not be used in a way that misleads a family about who is referring them.

Acceptable use

Using GolfPath, you agree not to:

  • Post scores, results, rankings or credentials you know to be false. Claiming a result you did not shoot is grounds for removing the account.
  • Impersonate anyone, or apply for a coach, director or instructor role you are not entitled to.
  • Attempt to contact a minor outside the contact flows GolfPath provides, or use the platform to obtain a way to reach a minor elsewhere.
  • Try to get around the age rules, the verification process or the platform's permissions, whether technically or by asking someone else to do it for you.
  • Upload content you do not have the right to upload, or content showing another person's child without their parent's permission.
  • Post anything abusive, harassing, hateful, sexual, or otherwise inappropriate on a platform used by children.
  • Scrape, bulk-download or resell profiles, or use the platform's data to build a competing database.
  • Interfere with the service or attempt to break its security.

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules. Where the safety of a child is involved, we will act first and discuss it afterwards.

Your content

You keep ownership of the videos, photos and text you upload. You give GolfPath permission to store that content and to show it to the people your golfer's age band allows — for example, verified coaches for a 15-year-old, or tournament directors only for a 10-year-old. That permission exists so we can run the service, and it ends when you delete the content or the account.

You are responsible for having the rights to what you post, including consent from anyone else who appears in a video.

Verified and self-reported information

Results on GolfPath are marked either director-verified — meaning a verified tournament director stood behind the number — or self-reported. We never blend the two into a single average.

We do not independently check self-reported information, and we do not warrant that it is accurate. Coaches should treat self-reported figures as exactly that.

Other companies' services

Profiles can link out to ranking bodies, junior tours and shot-tracking apps. Those links are links only. We do not import or restate another company's data as ours, we do not control those services, and we are not responsible for them.

No warranty

GolfPath is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data will always be available.

In particular: GolfPath does not promise that any coach will view a profile, make contact, offer a place, or offer a scholarship. We provide visibility. Recruiting outcomes are decided by coaches, not by us, and nothing on this platform should be read as a guarantee of one.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, GolfPath is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost recruiting or scholarship opportunities. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Suspension and ending your account

You can close your account at any time by writing to us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or if we have to in order to protect a user — particularly a child. If we close a paid account without cause, we will refund the unused part of the membership.

Changes to these terms

We will update the date in the banner at the top when these terms change, and tell account holders about material changes. The counsel-reviewed version — which will also set out governing law and how disputes are handled, both deliberately absent from this draft — will replace it in full before GolfPath opens to the public.
